OAS Payment Increase April to June 2026: New Rates & Schedule

• Single/Widowed/Divorced (GIS): Up to $1,109.85/month.

• Allowance (Ages 60-64): Up to $1,411.13/month.

• Allowance for the Survivor: Up to $1,682.15/month.

How the Increase is Calculated

OAS benefits are reviewed every January, April, July, and October. The April 2026 increase was calculated by comparing the average CPI from November 2025 to January 2026 (165.1) against the previous period (165.0). This ensures that senior benefits never lose value, even if the cost of living rises. Importantly, OAS payments will never decrease if the CPI goes down.

OAS Adjustments for April to June 2026

• Increase in OAS Benefits: For this quarter, there will be an approximate 0.1% increase in OAS benefit amounts. In total, there is an increase of 2.1% over the past year, from January 2025 to January 2026.

Maximum Old Age Security Amounts:
