New Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit: Get Your June 5 Top-Up Payment
The Government of Canada has announced a significant financial boost for millions of citizens. Starting June 5, 2026, eligible Canadians will receive a one-time top-up payment as part of the new Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit.
What is the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit?
Replacing the GST/HST credit in July 2026, this new benefit provides higher support levels. A transitional top-up of 50% of your annual credit will be paid on June 5.
- June 5, 2026: One-time top-up payment.
- July 3, 2026: Increased quarterly payments begin (25% hike).
